SUPERINTENDENT (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING)

Job Description
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
A Superintendent (Mechanical) will be in charge of mechanical work in a large unit and will be responsible for;
(i) Installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of mechanical plants in buildings including refrigeration and air-conditioning plants, boilers, catering and laundry equipment;
(ii) Training staff working under him;
(iii) Supervision and co-ordination of a number of small units.
(b) Requirements for Appointment
(i) For direct appointment to the grade of Superintendent (Mechanical), candidates must have attained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution or its approved equivalent;
(ii) Have served satisfactorily in the grade of Inspector I (Mechanical) or its equivalent for at least three (3) years; and
(iii) Have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in areas of mechanical installations and maintenance.
